Chinese Dadao in need of translation
11 Attachment(s)
While I was in Baltimore, I picked up a set of 3 Dadao from a dealer; each one is unique in its own way. I started cleaning one of them and to my surprise, I noticed some Chinese characters on the blade; on the other side of the sword where some drawings that are unrecognizable.
Can anyone translate these characters? |
I am ready to try to translate. But now the characters are very poorly visible. It is necessary to make detailed photos.

Thank you. The images on the blade are very faint and because of having to reduce the size of the pictures for this forum, this is the best I can do here. Can I send them to you in a private email and thus I can enlarge the pictures?
|
Yes of course. See personal message.

There is a result :) But it is not perfect.
The first character is read very difficult. Maybe it's 浱 chún "the water side". Then the whole inscription 浱家河民一号 chúnjiā hémín yīhào is translated as "the family of the water side, the people of the river, the first number." |
Thank you very Much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
It my pleasure :)
