Help needed to identify KATAR
6 Attachment(s)
Bought this katar fairly recently, and it seemed quite peculiar to me. I thought it was damaged because of the crooked blade but I was told that was an actual type of katar. And also the hilt is rather elegant and interesting could someone plz tell me anything about this katar looking at the hilt, maybe who it could of been owned by or the region. Thank you!

Hello,
The blade appears to be the tip of a sword. I am sure Jens will be able to tell you more. |

I cant say that I have seen a katar with a crooked blade like this one, but then again, I have not seen them all.
The hilt seems to be from south India, maybe 17th century or later. |

You can hardly compare the blades off these two katars, with the katar blade on the first katar you showed.
|
sorry but looks like a married piece their is no age or pitting to the rivets holding the blade. sword blade married to katar.
|
It is a married piece, and dont let the pitting on the blade fool you.
