Hi
I have been offered the attached knife
Only have pictures at moment
Overall length is 17 inches, sharp blade
Seller reckons it is for opening letters, which I do not agree with
Can anyone inform as to country of origin or any further information
Cheers
Ken

It look like some sort of a "Touareg" dagger to my eyes, others with more knowledge will be able to pin point the exact origin.

It is a telek, but I do not think it is tuareg, strictly speaking. Based on previous forum discussions, this looks like it was made in Bida in what is nowadays Nigeria - I am attaching a similar one I have as an example. A search for Bida should produce additional results. A pity that the scabbard is gone, but the blade looks in great shape well made.

Teodor
