Hello,
It would be nice if you show us the whole thing! Not that I am very knowledgeable, but I doubt that anyone can form an educated oppinion from a photo of a fragment of the blade. Maybe you can get a bigger photo from the owner? |
thanks

dear mariusgmioc I've tried to persuade the owner but to no avail, once again I apologize friend regrads LP |
In Java the dapur type may be called Laler Mengeng Bungkem (inverted kembang kacang touching the gandik), the pamor pattern is not very clear and the blade would benefit from cleaning & staining. Is the blade straight or wavy?

dear jean this wavy keris, yes in java called laler manggeng or kupu tarung, but in bugis we call kanuku garudayya, regrads LP |
Hello La Pagaru,
As far as I know in Java Laler Mengeng is a straight dapur type while Kupu Tarung (butterfly wings) is a pamor pattern style. I (and probably other collectors) would be very interested to see equivalence tables for similar dapur types and pamor pattern styles from Sulawesi and Java. I realize that it may difficult as many of them may not be exactly similar... Regards |
hallo
