An interesting sword

Hello all! Upon my skimming of interesting swords, I noticed a strange, yet wondrous weapon. The sword is about thirty-nine inches in total with a thirty-one inch blade and a hilt with gold and silver. Based on the flange at the end of the blade, the sword might be a type of kilij and from the owner's claim, it might be a tool used by executioners during the eighteen hundreds. I would like to hear your thoughts on this item. Is it worth obtaining as an actual historical piece or is it like the kora I posted earlier as a souvenir.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully this falls within the bounds of the rules.

This is currently listed on eBay, and as such should not be discussed (as per forum rules).

Sorry about that. I thought that rule only applied to posting on the swapping thread.
