Weapons from Indian museums.

I found some larger images from Junagarh Fort and Chowmahalla Palace with some unusual looking weapons, I thought I would make a thread as good images from Indian musems are hard to find, most are either very small and or blurry. If anyone has some additional higher resolution images or close up images from Indian Museums, especially unusual weapons please feel free to add them.

Great images, thanks for posting. Not my main area of interest... regarding the short arrows, what are these for... a type of crossbow ?

Colin, here is some information on the short Indian arrows from Faganarms, not sure how accurate it is but I have not seen any other references.

See Pant Vol. 1 page 104 and Plate LXXIV. These were short with an arrow guide, by one account called a marja, held in the bow hand. The small size prevented the enemy from shooting them back with conventional bows. As well, they allowed the archer to carry a larger supply.

These are great pics and what fun it will be to sift through all these pieces one by one as most look so unique.

I am glad to see these so well kept and well displayed. I have seen and heard horror stories of museum upkeep in India, especially the smaller museums.
