More talibons!

Hello all,

I may be a bit obsessed. I got a several new ones from an ebay purchase.

I'm particularly fond of the smaller of the three new ones. I love the carving on the scabbard, and the blade geometry is awesome.

Am I correct in assuming the wire wrap on the lighter colored one is not original?

As always, I'm happy to hear any and all comments. I love to learn about these wonderful blades.

Have fun,
Leif

And, because I'm a nerd, some family photos.

Thanks,

Quite a bunch in the family.

Nearly all of these look as though they are from the mid- to late-20th C. The oldest one seems to be the leftmost one in the group of eight that you show. This one could be from the first half of the 20th C. The scabbard on this one is in an older style than the others.

Ian.

Yep, that sounds about right. Thank you very much for your thoughts Ian.

The three big ones were previously posted here. I think these three are WWII bring backs, but I could be wrong.

Any thoughts on which ethnic groups may have produced the three, smaller new ones?

Have fun,
Leif
