Belated X-Mas presents to fellow Forumites

In a great tradition of X-mas spirit here are my presents to some of you. All af them were lovingly selected from the E-bay cornucopia.

This one is to Rivkin. Even though he is besotted with Kinjals, a good Caucasian Shashka will look good on his wall. This one was modified by the ancient Caucasian masters and bends the wrong way to fit Rivkin's closet

This one is to M. Carter in recognition of his skills as a translator from Arabic. This is a VERY, VERY rare Arabian sword and was signed by Assadullah himself. Miraculously, Assadullah wrote: " He who wields this sword at McDonalds, will get free topping on his Domino pizza".
Wasn't the Master great?

This one is for the Dha mafia: Andrew, Ian and Mark.
Please, boys, be very careful with this masterpiece: this is an ancient North Vietnamese Dha that was used by Comrade Ho Chi Mihn himself. It was given to him by Mahatma Gandhi and Comrade Ho especially loved the pacifistic nature of the blade: it could not cut even fresh cow dung!

This one goes to Labantayo. Not because he loves Visayan weapons , but because of his passion for fishing.
May your next fishing trip bring you something similar, preferably with the Lady of the Lake still filling these lovely "culottes"! And, by the way, the red thingie stuck in the fabric looks like a Doublehead Deity Sansibar to me. Enjoy!

Last but not least, the next one is for all of us with even minimal ambitions to write a definitive book on weapons.

What, NO KERIS!!! I mean, it was Kerismas after all. ;)
The really amazing thing here is that someone actually paid $51.00 for those "Lady of the Lake" panties. But i suppose in this day and age, when someone is will to pay TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars for a 10 yr. old half eaten cheese sandwich with the "image" of the virgin Mary on it (true story) i should expect no less. :)

Hey !!

Where's my solid gold fly swatter Ariel ? :D

Andrew 17th January 2005 07:37 PM

We prefer "syndicate" to "mafia".

The description of the rare arabic sword is totally wrong. Please notice the tip. This is the original famous Zulficar itself! And someone got it for only $123.46.

I hope he is a member of our forum so we will enjoy better pictures. ;)

Ariel:

Thank you, I nearly collapsed trying to imagine this "outstanding private collection"...

That IMPERIAL COSSACK CAUCASIAN SWORD SHASQUA SHASHKA KNIFE looks vaguely familiar. I think I've seen something like that before but under a different name like cookery or khookeree or somesuch...

Mike, you weren't in Winnipeg today were you? Or is this another forumite taking Ariel's or Assadullah's advice?

Great. Another sword-wielding nut taking us a step close to a general ban on edged weapons. It was probably stainless steel, too.

Yes , and this was no act of passion rather a well planned , well executed armed robbery .
I'm guessing that swords are much easier to acquire than guns in Canada .
Incidents like this could push Canada over the edge .
