A rare Capiz bolo
5 Attachment(s)
Yesterday I've bought a rare Capiz bolo, see here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Handmade-Bol...b#ht_82wt_1220
I am unsure if we can call it a sanduko since it don't has a long nose. It will need a careful restauration of the horn guard, hope that it will be possible. Age? First Republic? Opinions? Here some of the poor seller pictures. |
Nice. It seems like no one showed up for the bidding war. I like these type of hilts, it has a chunky abstract look to them. The cross guard could be wood not horn. Good catch Sajen.

Interesting piece. Obviously during the American occupation. 1920s - 1940s?

thank you for comment. :) Your age guess is based by the eagle carving on the scabbard, correct? How you would call it? Sanduko? Tenegre? Regards, Detlef |
After some research I am sure that this bolo can be called sanduko. In this thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...hlight=tenegre are shown similar swords and given some great informations.
