Unknown Shield Help Please
A friend picked this up a couple of weeks ago and we have been discussing where from. At first I thought from the Pacific Islands but upon further study I told her I think from N. Africa, like Morocco.

Terry, I believe your shield is from Abyssinia (nowadays Ethiopia). A search of the forum should produce threads where these shields are discussed in greater detail and pictures of similar examples.

Thank you very much. My search of the forum did just that. In fact it looks almost exactly like ones from the Amhara people of that country. A little help goes a long way. Thank you very much! Terry |
