Viking Seax Knife Grip
Hello,
the Vikings and their neighbors use a long knife called SAX/SEAX. Two of the blades well decorated was found in Great Britain (Sittingbourne and Beagnoth). My question is: Is any item found with its original grip ? I saw a lot of reenactment vikings using such items. Most of them have a plain wodden grip without a guard. Some are straight, some curved, some have brass plates as a spacer. But I have never seen an original one. May anyone of you have and could send me a link or photo. Thanks a lot. Dirk |
Maybe you can find something here
