can identify you this knife
It measures 45cm long, the blade 28cm
the handle is inlaid with silver wire, the blade is inlaid brass and copper...

is 19th century ???

The blade style suggests Morocco and is similar to the blades on the Koumyya, but the hilt is quite different.

Given the area's Berber history and its position on the western edge of the Sahel, I'd say definitely.

If anything I'd say this is a case of the Tuareg picking up influence from another region.

These don't correspond to classic Tuareg work (telek etc.).

But given the large numbers of differing Tuareg clans and the range they inhabit, it could simply be regional differences.

Still, I think these represent a specific Berber sub type for the region with Arab influences like the Bani Hassan.
