I have only found one reference to this mace in the book arms and armour traditional weapons of india By Jaiwant Paul.Page 92, the mace that was pictured is in the nation museum in dehli india.I visited the museum and took my own pictures of the mace .Do I have the brother to the mace in the museum the shaft and handle is a match the head is different at one time mine was covered in gold.

Does anyone have any type of reference to this type of mace?

It looks like your mace is from the same area as the ones in the museum, what did the museum description say. I have not seen this particular handle before.

Tag at the museum only said late 18th century gave no info on region in india.I tend to disagree on the date I think mid 19th century I have only seen mine and the one at dehli museum. Also very large conselled spike. The museum picture mace in the middle same maker, top mace is much larger.
