A Ngala and a Salampasu
5 Attachment(s)
Hi all! Here are two new pretty pets that I have adopted :D a Ngala execution sword and a Salampasu short sword. On the Salamapasu scabbard there are three numbers, seems to me "158" or "159" and they are covered with what seems paraloid as used in the museums.... It's my imagination or also you, guys, can see what I see.... (if not, well, I need an exorcism... :D )

Hello Flavio,
Does look like a 159 to me. Regards, Kai |
Congrats Flavio,
two very nice swords! :) Do you have seen my thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ighlight=ngala Both ngala look very similar. Can you post some close ups from the blade? Regards, Detlef |
Hi Kai!
So you are with me that the nunber exist? Ok, I'm not crazy :D Hi Detlef! Sure, I see your post, very nice sword and very similar. Yours has a better blade since mine was polished too much and so the decoration is a little bit vanished..... Anyway tomorrow I'll take some shoots of the blade and some of the handle that has some yellow copper or brass tacks Flavio |

Blade and handle

Both are lovely pieces with great patina. Thanks for sharing. In particular the leather of the Salampasu scabbard is very well preserved.

Hi Flavio,
I think that your blade was heavily corroded, still a nice sword. :) BTW, I also think that the number is 159. Regards, Detlef |
Thank you Iain :)
Detlef, yes the blade was very corroded and so, one of the previous owners had heavily cleaned it... that's why the decoration is a little bit vanished  |
