This just arrived. The silver quality is excellent and heavy. Appears is if it COULD be a mating of dagger and scabbard as the decoration on each is completely different. Also the scabbard is guilded where the hilt is not.
My thoughts are Yemeni rather than Saudi. What do we think Gentlemen?
A piece of much better quality than most that appear these days IMHO.

Hey Stu,

Glad you got this one, backed out from buying it due to unclear photos and general doubt. But indeed the silver work on the scabbard is good quality especially that it shows remnant of gilt. The hilt and blade do not seem fit for the scabbard though, I agree. Still its worth getting :-)

Nice scabbard. Could the blade have been shortened at some point?

Hi Teodor,
Hope all is well with you.
I did wonder about the short blade, although IF this dagger is mismatched anyway,(which I think it is), then maybe the blade has always been this length. I did not mention before but the blade is two part (sandwich), judging by the sound when tapped.
What attracted me was the QUALITY of the two parts.....way better than most that appear for sale now.
Stu
