Hi Matt,
these are usually attributed to the Taureg but could be from Mali or Niger regions. Unfortunately this type seem to be made for the tourist industry and are all late 20th century. Regards David |

I got one essentially free in an auction lot of other items I wanted, so I'm not bothered if this is a tourist piece and not worth much. :) Thanks very much for the info - I knew I had seen this before, but loads of Google image searching wasn't getting me an answer. Much thanks, Matt |
