Hi,
also this one came to me. It is one of a pair.

It is near at Newmans american spontoon no 88PA but mine has a rim at the shoulder (like 73PA).
It is marked with OK.
Will this be the initials of the makers name or like the Internet tells you "oll korrect" or "Order Known"

Is it american orign ? French ? I bought it in Germany.
Maybe a centenar production of the middle 1900 ?
Or realy middle of the 1800 ?

What do you think

best
Dirk

If I had to guess, I'd wager American. It's of the plainer form seen in Neumann's and Moore's. Likewise, the lettering isn't fancy script, nor identifying of any regiment or regent. I'm assuming the 'OK' might be a maker's mark. Of course, you might be correct with the Germanic stamp of passed inspection. It is a great piece! Good find!

The lettering ordered by the owner ... allusive to combat efficiency ? :o

Hello,
Thanks for your guesses.

Found out that a third one without the marks came along in another auction in Germany.
It was described as 16/17 century lance head.
But we know this couldn`t be at all.

Wonder why there are three of a kind in such little time.

best wishes
Dirk

Hmmm. It seems to be the real deal, if that is what you mean as far as others popping up at the same time. I still say Amer or German spontoon, ca late 18th/early 19th. Spontoons were more ceremonial, so they lasted into the early 1800's. Langets look right, as does the pole. Hard to say without holding the piece, though-

They don't appear to be any of the knock-offs out there.
