A kerdas Bugis hilt, maybe from Sulawesi, maybe from Sumbawa, could be also from Peninsula IMHO.

Is it from wood or horn?

its from wood...a very old carving. what is most interesting is the 'wattles"motif on top of the head, no found in ordinary kerdas hilts. :)

By this I have written that it could be also from Sumbawa, when I remember correct I have seen a similar hilt before which was attributed to Sumbawa. ;)
