Salaams Regihis ~ New  But apologies since I ought to clarify that comment; The blade looks like it has been cleaned with a circular machine as the cyclic grinding marks are visible and the pattern is newly cut ...crude, sharp, unworn and new. There is no patina on the item. The decorative inlay is fresh and inexpensive and shall we say applied with the "hot needle" rather than expertly inlaid.

These are common in a lot of souks including Turkey, Sharjah, Pakistan and India and frankly every tourist trap between there and Timbuktu and China (but I would still love to visit every one of them all the same !!)

For sure this is a tourist item ~

Ibrahiim al Balooshi.

Oh these.. they are what my fellow collectors say they are.

But I remember seeing some of these with pretty decent crossguards.
