Hello all,

I recently acquired a Yataghan and hope someone can help me with translating a cartouche on the blade (image attached). I will add a few more images of the sword soon.

Salaams Russel ~ Look forward to seeing more pictures of the Yat.. The spindly looking wording I can't determine but the boteh (leaf shaped) stamp looks interesting and likely to be one of the big armouries..Istanbul?

Hi Russel
as soon as pic's are in display ...
translation ready ... in stand by :p ;) :p

translation for the cartouche, but also for the blacksmith stamp :D

now ... up to you :shrug:
