Straight short sword, curved guard...

Ok, I'm left with no choice but to ask. I'm really sorry for the annoyance...

I'm trying to find a thread discussing a sword that I would say was posted here not too long ago. I've recently happened to come a cross what I think is a very similar sword (no, I have no pics nor any chance to get them) and would like to check the discussion, if possible.

The sword in question featured a straight, double-edged blade, between one and two feet long (IIRC), and possibly of flattened diamond cross section. The hilt, where brass was the predominant material, had a downward (blade-wise) curved guard (think "Afghan palouar" but with smaller finials and no langets) and a barrel-shaped grip of octogonal section.

Does anybody remember something like it?

I've spent a good time searching the forum but I haven't managed to find it...
Of course, it might very well be my mind playing tricks on me, it wouldn't be the first time, but I would swear for the life of min that I saw it here...

I'll appreciate any help. But, in any event, many thanks for your attention.

Marc

Marc:

I wonder if you are referring to this thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=815 -- which was a cross-posting from an SFI forum found here: http://forums.swordforum.com/showthr...055#post592055

This is the sword in question:

No, not this one, Ian, but thank you nonetheless. :)
