Carjack, very nice jezails. The first one is a really nice quality one. even the lock seems to be localy produced. The bipod area is kinda intresting, with the bumped portion. Very nice finds.

Belated reply - I am very jealous! The bipod looks very interesting indeed, if slightly iffy as a support for a heavy gun; have you tried using it? Obviously not for shooting from, but for resting on?

I like the second, too; the barrel looks good and heavy, and the decoration, while extensive, is actually rather prettily done. I tend to think the more decorated jezails are rather overdone and not particularly attractive, but that old girl is a very handsome specimen.

Norm, where'd you find that picture? I'm always keen to find pictorial depictions of jezails in use, in the light of the regular speculation on how they should be gripped and aimed.

Yes I tried using it and it was enough stable for this jezail who is not so heavy.
The second one is realy a monster and very heavy with a very nice barrel

Hi Cerjak. Thanks for posting these two very attractive Jezails.
The first one is my favorite. The lock on this one does look European made. Notice the quality of the screws. The bipod is a bonus. And, that fully fluted muzzle end of the barrel is GREAT!! The less extreme curvature of the butt stock and not overly decorated make this gun especially attractive, to me anyway. You just may have to trade me for that gun someday. ;) :D

The second one is a monster!! Yet, still attractive. The lock on this one was made locally. Notice the crude stamping of "Tower" on the rear of the lockplate. Also looks like a screw from inside the lock threads through the O in the "Tower" stamp? Still an attractive gun - and huge!! :eek:
