100%
Thx Gav, and yes, it's bone...100% I started collecting about a month or 3 ago, and bought a few cassowary daggers, but wooden african tribak sticks and other stuff as well. I soon realised myself (and the wife made it very clear - they are great at that aren' t they... ) that it was getting too much, too fast, so I decided to stick with bone items only.

GIVEN THE LARGE NUMBER OF LARGE ANIMALS IN AFRICA ITS SUPRIZING THERE ARE NOT MORE WEAPONS MADE FROM BONE.
NO DOUBT BEFORE METAL CAME ON THE SCENE BONE TOOLS AND WEAPONS WERE QUITE COMMON. JUST THINK OF THE CLUB ONE COULD FASHON FROM THE LEG BONE OF A GIRAFFE. :D A NICE LOOKING CLUB THE PICTURES MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE AGE. IS IT NATURALY AGED OR HAS IT BEEN SMOKED AND THEN BURRIED IN THE GROUND  SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL BY ITS SMELL. |
Smell
Hi Vandoo, doesn t smell likes it has burned..ever..lol. Such a smell would takes ages to go. I m pretty positive it s an honest "old piece" . How old...??? Impossible to determine, but The patina on it shows more than extensive use...
