MATCHLOCK REST FOR COMMENT
4 Attachment(s)
I shoot a reproduction matchlock at our local rifle range and had been looking for a rest for some time when I came across this at a local antique fair in an umbrella stand along with some walking sticks. As I am not at all knowledgeable about early firearms ( other than enjoying shooting them ) I wondered if any members could tell me whether this is a genuine early piece or a repro . It is 155 cm long. The wood looks old and the iron parts certainly seem to have some age . It cost me £5 so I shant be upset if you tell me it was made yesterday ! Ignore the tassel .. I put that on.

This is obviously a 19th c. reproduction in 17th c. style.
