hello together
I know Rhino horn?

At first glance it looks more like Goat/ram or light buffalo.
The delamination would fit with that. I'd expect ageing in Rhino horn to be more cracking or surface crazing.

Can we see the entire item?

Yep thats fiberous goat or ram horn, but many well known top international arms dealers would happily sell it as Rhino to those who arnt sure on the id of horn specis.

I never mineded sending them back their miss represented goods, but it always cost me the postage ,customs fees & taxes to look closley at the stuff they should know better than me... Their own collections, show they know the differance.

I think theres a name for what they do?

It is exactly NOT Rhino horn...there are enough discussions on the subject of ivory and horn in the search functions....have a dig through the history.
