Dzeferdar rifle for comment.

Hi to All.
I have this Dzeferdar rifle for a long time now. It has a heavy damascus barrel with silver engrave and a gold seal on the top. Can anyone help me with the translation of the inscription on the barrel? Thanks in advance. Aristeidis. |
Hi Aristeidis,
This looks like a nice rifle. I'm sorry I cannot help with any of your questions but it might be an idea to P.M. Dom or Zifir and ask them to have a look. As you have not mentioned translation in your title our Arabic speakers might not have picked up on your request. I look forward to some comments on the piece from some of the more knowledgeable members here. Regards, Norman. |
Don't know about the translation but the barrel is gorgeous! What exquisite inlay work! :D

Hi Aristeidis. Can't help you with the translations. Hope others here can.
But, I want to be one of the first to say: That is a beautiful piece. Lock looks like it's done in the Albanian style with nice engraving. Barrel is terrific. I don't have one of these in my collection yet. But still looking. Thanks for posting pictures. Rick. |
Thank you all for your comments.
The lock is balkan miquelet type, little bigger than normal. But the barell is the most beautiful part on this rifle and the most heavier :D Aristeidis |

here the translation ... :D ... BUT it will need the 'Imprimatur" from Zifir ;) a name is not Arabic, and unknown fro us, I transcribed just the sound Zifir perhaps should fix this SAHEB NEZLI (?) OSMAN PASHA either OWNER NEZLI (?) OSMAN PASHA in terms of translation, our contribution has no authentication value, we are not experts to declare the origins referred to are real, or accurate it's just a precision to avoid misunderstanding à + Dom |
Thank you Dom ;)
Aristeidis. |
Thank you Dom, sounds nice to have the authority of the 'Imprimatur" on Turkish albeit I am far away from it. Libra, my guess is there several dots missing underneath in the script, so it should be "Nizibli" ( a district in todays Ayntab) Osman Pasha.

Thank you Zifir!!
All the best. Aristeidis |
Dzeferdar "rifle"
That is a really beautiful piece, but of course it is not a "rifle". Better perhaps to call it a musket.
