Picked up this WWII knife recently and thought I'd share it.
I had a kharmic attraction to it as it was very similar in spirit to a trainer design I had made for me many years ago.

Comments heartily welcomed.

A UNUSUAL DAGGER AND IT DOES MAKE A VERY NICE PAIR WITH YOUR LARGE PRACTICE SWORD. CONGRADULATIONS :)
DOES THE BLADE HAVE WRITING ON IT? IT LOOKS LIKE A DATE OF 1945 WHICH WOULD MAKE IT A WW2 BRING BACK BUT IT MAY HAVE BEEN OLDER WHEN AQUIRED. I SEEM TO REMEMBER SEEING SIMULAR BIRD HEAD HANDLES IN SOME OTHER POST BUT DON'T REMEMBER WHERE THEY WERE FROM OR WHICH POST IT WAS IN.

Is it an albatross? That panabas(?) is lovely.

Yes, it does say "Philippines 1945" in a very nice type of caligraphy script. From other period pieces I have handled I would say the dating is correct.
I'll try to take a closer pic tomorrow.
thanks!
