mystery piece

I own this piece for quite some time now. Never shown it on the forum. I'm not sure if it has to go in the 'Etnographic Weapons' section or in the 'European Armoury' section.

When I bought it, the seller told me it was of Chinese origin. That's why I put it here.

Looks like some kind of small sword. Wooden handle and sheath with brass fittings. The blade has a triangular form. I wouldn't be surprised if it was made out of a bajonet of some kind.

Total length : 55,5 cm
Length of blade : 42 cm

I would appreciate any input  . Look at the pics

A UNUSUAL ITEM IT LOOKS LIKE A COMPOSIT PIECE TO ME. THE OVERALL SHAPE IN SCABBARD RESEMBLES A CHINESE MACE IN FORM. FOR ME THE CHINESE ORIGIN ENDS THERE AS THE METAL PARTS AND BLADE LOOK MORE EUROPEAN IN DESIGN. ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY WHERE SUCH AN ITEM WAS PUT TOGETHER EVEN IF YOU IDENTIFY SOME OF ITS PARTS. IN THE END THE IMPORTANT THING IS IF YOU LIKE IT :D GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH

The blade look like a "Rosalie" Lebel bayonet. The pommel can be an européen sword pommel.

Could well be a Lebel bayonet, but I couldn't find any markings on the blade.
