Moro kris HELP!
 

Well, i'm in a blizzard in NYC and happen into this antique store. Sorry that the pictures are awful. I'm using my wife's point & shoot in bad light. The color is all off.
What i am wondering is how old the furniture might be. The blade looks old and i can see lamination (not shown). The silver metal appears to be true silver in person and the "gold" looks to be at least gold plate if not suasa. The guy says the bit at the top piece is ivory, though it might well be bone. I didn't have time for a proper inspection or better pictures. But i feel like this hilt is a later addition to this ensemble. What do you guys think?

like you know I am not an expert but what I can see by the pictures is that the motif at hilt, bone (look indeed like bone) pice and band at the scabbard is adequate, isn't it? And the silver band at the scabbard seems to have some age and my guess is that the fittings are not recent but I think later work as the blade. What I can see by the pictures it is a nice looking kris and to use the words from Rick, when the price isn't over the moon.....:) ;)

The hilt, baka-baka, and scabbard are all later work. Only the blade is old.

This is what i thought to José, but how old do you think the later work is. Pre- WWII or post?
I'm sorry i couldn't get better shots of the blade. I should have at least gotten a full length. :o :)

Hullo David,

I've seen one very similar, half straight with 5 curves and a straight handle. The stirrup, ferrule and pommel were brass. The grip was wound with twine with a conical pommel.
My guess is that the fittings/scabbard on yours are post-WWII.
