ho can tel me the name of the pamor and the name of the wood ware the scabbard is made from
regards semar |
I like a lot this blade (...pamor) ALso the root of sarong seems very nice
|
This is a Bugis-like keris, not a Bugis keris. To find the answer to your questions, perhaps you should try to ask the makers, who are probably still producing these Bugis-like kerises now. :)

The pamor is too refined and complex for a Bugis blade... there are Bugis and Bugis influence blades wth excellent examples of pamors.. notable those from Palembang,Trenganu & Sumbawa... but i believe this is far too refined and does not give a feel of a bugis blade... This blade may also be missing a ganjar... |
Gentlemen, let's continue without personal conflict please .
I'd suggest PM's for the other stuff . |

The pamor seems well controlled and imo goes along nicely with the grain of the Gonjo ................errrr wrongko . :D |

in my opinion this wood called: "afzelia xylocarpa"
Text from the internet: (Afzelia wood can have incredible figure, and the most outstanding and rare is the xlay figure . It looks like raised alligator skin, which really shows best when the surface is very highly polished. No other wood figure looks quite like it, and it is very hard to get, being only a tiny percentage of the afzelia wood available.) |

Should I have been mistaken in my initial asessment about the missing ganjar... may we be given a look at the base of the ganjar... the the form of the sekar cicak... would be a good indicator...

thank you sirek
for your reply about the name of the wood regards semar |
Hi Semar,
I'm sorry for upsetting you with my comments. They had been thoughtless and a knee-jerk response from me. I had no ill intentions other than sharing my opinion on this keris. My apologies again. Regards, Kai Wee |
oke no hard feelings bleuerf and thank you for your apologies
regards semar |
IMHO, this is a dapur brojol, dressed in Bugis-like sarung and hilt. Judging from the pamor's garap, I opine that this is made by Maduran pandhe.....
