Either it has motives from several cultures, or this is something I have never seen before!
Please, enlighten me.

i don't care if it's excalibur, i don't like it. the price it didn't go for is about right but a bit high :) looks like someones idea of a fantasy sword from someone not used to having ideas.... i cringe whenever ebay lists something as 'rare' - tho in this case i hope it means that there isn't another one like it....the only thing good about it is that it looks like it has some age & does not look like stainless steel. it seems to have snapped a few inches up from the grip & the pieces are butted together, or there is a score line there to enable a controlled break if you dared hit something with it.

Maybe it's photoshopped, something's funny there.

I have a feeling that this is a Benin? Yoruba? staff or parade staff sword. The decorative parts above the grip I have seen before and I am sure I have seen the kinked blade before. I am looking to see if I can find a picture of a similar item. I bet somebody comes up with one. I fear a real bargain was lost.

Not lost yet as it has been relisted.
