This is a new ebay thing for me. The ebay pictures are not good. I made the close up from the ebay picture.
A most curious head, I think the carving and line to the back is quite sensitive, charming and pleasant to hold. It has a beak like form, a birds head? is it African? I also post a picture {on the red back ground} of similar items. The stick in the middle is a leather bound British officers swagger stick which is 0.5 of an inch shorter than the ebay item which was stated as being approx 24 inches. Apparnetly one yellow eye is missing. Will show better pics next week.
It certainly looks an old piece.
