OLD ARABIAN JAMBIYA TRANSLATION PLEASE

3 Attachment(s)
I picked this old piece up at a local gunshow today. Hilt appears to have been replaced at some stage long ago, as it shows good age. I note that there is an Arabic inscription on the back of the scabbard, and wonder if someone can translate for me please. Are you there Dom? :)

Almost looks Whahabite in some respects.

Its from Asir/Hijaz region of Western Arabian. If you want to refer to it as Wahabite type OK, but they were only one tribe who used these.
The hilt is NOT the original , and in the swap Forum there is a further post about this item.

" Amal Mohamed Saleh "
" Made by Mohamed Saleh "

Thankyou Dom for the translation and your kind comments. :) Do you have any thoughts regarding the hilt. It is not the original but has obviously been in place for quite some time, as it shows good age.

Hi Stuart
when I look at it, my first thought is;
Asir/Hijaz jambyia "Sudanese type"
and the hit goes (on my point of view) with the scabbard

but, still yet for the general shape, is well "Whahabite"
specially the blade :D

Thanks for that Dom. I suppose that there is a possibility that the hilt is original, but must admit I had not thought it so.
