2 new pictures of kris I recently found
 

Greetings folks and Mabuhay!

below are 2 pictures of datus holding kris that I just found on the web. The first is a clearer single picture of datu Piang with a kris (better details than the stereoview).

The second picture is a Sulu datu who is wielding a junggayan kris with silver silver clamps. Notice that his blade is etched dark.

GREAT PICTURES :D I WISH THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAD GOTTEN THE ENTIRE HILT OF THE KRIS IN IT LOOKS VERY UNUSUAL AND KIND OF LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A FIGURE INCORPORATED INTO THE POMMEL DESIGN ARE THOSE ARMS OR LEGS?. STILL IT IS A BETTER LOOK AT THE KERIS THAN i HAVE SEEN BEFORE.
THE SECOND PHOTO SHOWS THE WARRIOR IN THE POSITION TO STRIKE I WONDER IF IT WAS THE PHOTOGRAPHERS LAST PICTURE. :D
I ALSO NOTED HE HAS A LONG THIN OBJECT IN HIS OTHER HAND WHAT IS THAT?

Vandoo, some of the work on the pommel of Piang's kris is okir work, some is something else attached. :shrug:
