Genoui...or what?

Hello

I've been looking at this auction http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
and I can't figure out what it is. It looks like the blade of a bayonet, but put together in a strange manner with an ivory? hilt, the whole in a european scabbard. I thought it might be a Morroccan genoui/sbula but I dont know. Any thoughts?

Looks to me like a early 19th century Naval Dirk.

Searched around and found a 19th c American naval dirk. Looks like it. Thanks Greg.

The style of this piece is definitely French, ca.1820, +/-10 years. Additional photos would help dating and attributing it more precisely. A very nice dirk!
