Interesting Kachin Dha

Just got this very interesting Kachin dha. It has an unusually broad and heavy blade of unique shape. The hilt mounts are copper with silver alloy bolster and pommel cap. The dha has been mounted with a unique Chinese style brass guard which is fitted in such a way that I believe it it was 'born together' and not a later add-on. All in all makes for a very unique looking, but highly practical piece.

Comments welcome.

Beautiful Piece Charles! Interesting hybrid. The handle and scabbard are your standard kachin, but then the guard and the blade are a definite twist! I think I have seen a couple other with this type of guard...one was posted on a SFI thread...can't find the thread...but let me see if I can scrounge up the pictures.
