Hi,
Recently sold, it's not mine. I don't know what is this... Any idea????? Thanks Kubur |
It's Indian, possibly recent. Basically a sword-sized knife. Not sure what these should be called; I've seen them called "jambiya" based on the hilt style.

I found something very similar sold on Oriental arms http://www.oriental-arms.co.il/photos.php?id=2614 Could it be a so-called Arabo-Indian, Yemen/Hyderabad??? |
I was offered a small group of Sikh weapons several years ago, all late 19th century and early 20th century, there was a very similar dagger in the group. Since, I have seen a few of these daggers and many have small clues that they were made in the Punjab, possibly for Sikh use at the turn of the century, and early 20thC.
Hope that helps - Best, Runjeet. |

My sword (or large knife) of similar construction, though with a different style of pommel.
Seller claimed 19th century, iirc. |
Do I see Indian Ricasso?
|
Yes. But surely this is unsurprising on an Indian sword.
