Puukko

Hi forumites, just posting this Puukko, looking for a little feedback from those in the know. This was traded to me last year and I do wish to know if he was on the level. I was told that this is a custom one made by Mr J Marttiini himself and was one of the last ones made by him. As the Story goes, the trader's father was a police officer visiting Finland in the mid 70's where he obtained it.

regards

While a nice puukko, the signature is the standard way most all
Janne Marttiini knives are signed. I have several Marttiini puukko all
signed like this. They started in business in 1928. Now their blades
are made in France and just the knives assembled in Rovaniemi, Finland.
This model may still be in their catalog in current production.
In my 1990's something catalog, it is model #575 I think.
You can check it out at their website (in English) at:

Thanks Rich, no real worth from a collectors point of view then?
