Genre Work?

Egyptian Sword..

Looks like classic orientalist work with heavily applied artistic license.
So probably the location was the artist's studio and imagination rather than some place tangible.

From Wikipedia:
" Art historians tend to identify two broad types of Orientalist artist: the realists who carefully painted what they observed and those who imagined Orientalist scenes without ever leaving the studio."

Seems likely this is by Bruno Piglhein Here
That does not help with the subject matter but looks like he was fond of painting ladies in various stages of undress

Yup, it was him, he did a few with the same lady, it's 'The Egyptian Sword Dancer'. 1891.

Nice pair of Yataghans...

Looks better in colour. :D

I was entertained by an Egyptian Sword Dancer in a bedu tent near Giza during a meal once. Bit more clothing tho. The wife and my son were with me.
