I’m currently in Derbent and have come across a few pieces that I’m considering. Being so far North, I’m unsure if the inscriptions are Turkish, Arabic, or Farsi. Any help would be appreciated.

In the last photo, the Arabic ritual exclamation Mashallah (what Allah willed). But the photo is upside down. Below the stamp is dated 1278 Hijra (1861-62).
On the blade of the dagger the signature of the master and the date: 1325 according to the Hijra calendar. That is, the date of creation of the blade is 1906-07. It's all need to buy and run away before the seller changes his mind :) |
