Poison Philippine Blades?

Just saw this video on spider poisoned coated knife blades from the Philippines. To me this seems to be hype considering they state the blades are polished after applying the poison?

Hi Lew,
I have seen this before.....the extreme heat would destroy the toxins...so presumedly the 'addition' of the spider venom is purely symbolic.

They are certainly very dangerous to the spiders :(

the 'poisoning' is magical, not toxicological.
the spirit of the spider enters the blade and makes it more deadly.

Heh. Small world.

That's my Grandmaster, Leo Gaje Jr. I'm a student of his student (who is now a guro) in Pekiti-Tirsia Kali.

I've met Tuhon Gaje and trained with him many times. He's certainly the real deal in martial arts.
