Shield Id

I've had this shield for a while and realise I don't know very much about it. I believe it is from India. Images of humans probably rules out Isamic origin I would think. Some one might be able to date it looking at the human figures. I had to shine a light thru the back to help the paintings stand out. A little help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Stephen

From the images you have shown here, the fashion of dress appears Qajar Persian, particulary from the vertical headress being worn. The quality of the lines drawn for the figures seems very good and worth further study, quality of fingers/hands are always a good clue along with the fineness of the line drawn. The hide obviously is lunimous when backlit, appears to be a type of smooth surfaced hide.
