Jens, thank you for posting this, which brings forth an important component in understanding the development of both style and symbolic motif which carried profound influence in many later European arms and armour. The artistic fashioning of decorative motif utilizing many important symbols and superstitious and folkloric devices certainly influenced the later decoration on Viking arms and carried into the Gaelic weaponry as well.

While many of us cannot likely attend this exhibition, it is great to know about it, and perhaps publications or catalog might become available.
Regardless, it encourages me to bring out the Celtic references just by looking at these wonderful pieces!!!
