OT: Ethnographic carved female from were?
 

If this post isn't appropriate just scold me and I won't do it again. The boardees on another well-known site seem to be stumped (n.p.i.) by this carved wooden female statue. Maybe someone here can help them out. Is it Micronesian or what?

ALL I CAN DO IS GUESS FIRST GUESS AN OLDER PIECE FROM HATI, SECOND GUESS SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA. I MOSTLY BASE THIS ON CARVING STYLE AND TECKNIQUE, MY CARVINGS FROM THOSE AREAS MOST CLOSLY RESEMBLE THE CARVING IN QUESTION. I WONDER WHAT IT WAS USED FOR ITS UNUSUAL FOR A CARVING TO BE HOLLOW UNLESS IT IS SMALL AND PART OF SOME LARGER ITEM. GOOD LUCK

I went to a Catholic school in 8th grade and she looks like this carving - (she would have nun of that :D ).
