Iraqi khanjar?

4 Attachment(s)
A little out of my comfort zone, an Iraqi, Turtish or Kurdish khanjar. Plain steel blade and a handle of horn. It was a bit of a gamble, the seller's photos were out of focus, blade rusted but the handle did show a patina. Blade cleaned up and etched no wootz. No idea if it is old or recent or where it came from. Would appreciate your comments.

Best regards
Marc

Balkan/Ottoman, Kurdish . . . who's to say? Not a lot of narrowing descriptors for my untrained eye to seize upon.

Looks Kurdish. Many were made out of wootz.

Like mine:
