Russian wootz

Folks,
Just wanted to draw your attention to the collection of newly-made knives by Dmitry Malakhov. Currently, he lives in Minnesota. Look at his wootz knife. http://www.artandknife.com/sale3.html |
Beautiful.
I am very much interested in modern bladesmithing, and lately my interests have been in steel production. There is a site for modern bladesmiths to showcase their work, and a section on their forum is dedicated to the production of homemade steel by replicating tatara and crucibles to make Tamahagane and crucible steel from scratch. Very interesting stuff: http://forums.dfoggknives.com/index.php?showforum=25 |
