So I did what I could during a 1 hour break, trying the methods in this forum.
First, scraped off the active rust. Second, polished the blade and the hilt (turned out to be silver). Third, etched the blade in warm vinegar for around 10 mins, then neutralized with baking soda slurry. Fourth, wiped it all down. Ps: I didn't touch the gangya area because I wasn't too sure about what I was doing. Anyway, here goes. |

Yes nice job.
FYI - silver, copper, brass were made to shine and so can be polished. Bronze, however, is the opposite. And you can do the ganga, especially since it is the same and not separately made. |
